"There's no need to hide now boys, we won't judge you in this house" you told them. Arthur and Vladimir looked between Lukas and you, thinking through your words.

"Really?" Vladimir asked. You nodded and walked fully into the room, showing the other two boys the wings attached to your back. This seemed to give them the confidence to drop the illusions around them and reveal their own extra features.

Vladimir had a set of black bat wings attached to his back, which fit through the holes in his shirt but could be tucked in small enough to be hidden by his trenchcoat.

"I guess that explains your sense of fashion and your good hearing" you said to him and he nodded. You then turned your attention to Arthur.

The boy was looking dejectedly at the floor, the two floppy bunny ears attached to his head were resting on his shoulders. He looked up as you moved into the room and knelt in front of him, the tears falling to the floor.

"At least you all get nice wings. I just have bunny ears that make me look stupid"

"I think you look adorable with them cute little fluffy tail and all. There's no need to cry"

"The others call me stupid because of it, none of them look as weird as me"

"The others?"

"My older brothers"

"They're all like you?"

"They all have animal features, I've seen them when I went over to Arthur's house one afternoon!" (Vlad)

"Do you have any brothers or sisters like you Vladimir?"

"Aurel and Aleksander. Aurel is like me, but his wings are brown. Aleksander has mouse ears and a tail" he explained. You let a small smile settle on your face.

"And where are they at the moment?"

"Probably back at the orp- home"

"Be honest with me Vladimir, what were you really going to say?"

"They'll be back at the orphanage. We were with our parents until Aurel was two, then they just sent us away. No orphanage keeps us very long because the others tend to pick on us, we can't hide our wings or ears as well as you can."

"Well we can teach you that spell" Arthur told him, crawling off of your knee to sit on the other side of Vladimir.

"And I can give the three of you a home, as long as you don't mind owls"

"The only one that has problems with owls is Aleksander, but it just means he has to get used to them"

"That should be fine then. I'll just run this past the others and make some phone calls"

You watched Arthur run into the house, waving to him as he closed the door. With a nod to Vladimir you headed to the orphanage. When you got there it was difficult to get Vlad out of the car.

"You'll be getting back in the car with all of your things and your brothers in a little bit. I've got to take you back in so I can sign the papers for that to happen." You pointed out. He pushed open the car door and pretty much ran to the building after that, making you laugh. When you got through the doors Elizabeta was already waiting for you.

"So you finally got here. Aurel and Aleksander got so bored of waiting they went into the yard"

"Sorry, but I had to get a babysitter in to look after the others and drop Arthur off at his house first" you pointed out. Liz shrugged at that and led you to the yard.

You couldn't see much of the yard for the large group of kids that seemed to be gathered in a circle, obviously surrounding something.

"You'll never get adopted bat boy, why do you even bother showing your face when a new person turns up?" You zeroed in on the comment and realised that you'd find Aurel at the centre of the group.

"Liz, grab the back of my coat for me" you told the Hungarian woman. When you felt that she'd done so, you walked forward, shrugging the long coat off as you pulled your arms out of the sleeves, no longer confined, you fluffed out your wings and spread them out fully, creating a shadow over the circle of boys. Those smart enough to notice the shadow turned to look at it and panicked, managing to contain their fear until they'd run off. The only one that remained was the one who had spoken, who noticed the absence of his friends before noticing you.

"The answer to your question, normal boy, is because he deserves a chance like everyone else. Someone might like the fact that he isn't like all of you and may even be like him in some way" you told him, shifting your wings for emphasis. "I'd suggest you leave now so I can sign the papers and take Aurel with me"

The bully did as he was told and scarpered, hiding back in the building. Aurel stopped hiding in his wings to look up at you and you tucked your wings away quickly so he didn't freak out. He grinned up at you and ran behind the tree to pull another boy out of hiding.

"Miss, are you going to adopt Aleksander too? And Vlad?"

"Yes, I am. In fact, your brother is upstairs packing his things now so you can all come with me"
